Karma yoga in modern life is not just a spiritual teaching from the Bhagavad Gita; it is a practical framework for conscious action in today’s fast-paced world.
Today, in this blog, I will try to explain to you about the core ideology of ‘Karma yoga,’ and its importance in modern times, especially for the working segment.
Before starting with the Karma yoga Algorithm, I will tell you about a few more types of Yoga, these are Bhakti yoga, Rajya yoga, Kriya yoga, etc.
Among these, karma yoga is the only yoga that is directly connected with the individual to the Physical world.
Now, we need to understand what is the actual meaning of karma yoga as per Modern time. So the word Karma yoga is the way of work or Service.
Now, what is work?
Physics has defined work as force multiplied by displacement. Is it true?
Well, yes, if we talk in Physics term, but when we talk about work in general, like office work, personal work, etc., is this definition enough to justify or explain the true meaning of work to us?
Hence, when we talk about work in general, we need to see it from a different perspective where more than force and displacement are taken into consideration.
It’s time to go back to the Bhagavad Gita ‘what is karma’? It is derived from the Sanskrit word kri, to do; all action is karma.

We will go into more detail about work.
Simply, work is referred to as an action done by a living being with a secular path, under moral and ethical choice, which generates results in terms of pleasure.
We all know that for all humankind, pleasure is the goal. Everyone wants to experience pleasure in different forms, either in food, money, name, fame, etc. The question is how it will come; it will come through karma. But why so much stress on pleasure, if we can see people around who are suffering, not getting enough of their work?
That’s a valid point to raise, this is true, not all actions that are done by living being considered good karma, because good karma generates good results and bad karma generates bad results.
How does karma become good or bad?
See, when I said work or karma to be good, it needs to be done on a secular path, under moral and ethical choice, with selflessness.
when I Say Selflessness I am not saying you should work for free, I simply trying to say that you should not be focusing on result while doing the work, because every action has a reaction, either you think about the result or you not, but the thing is by thinking about the result You are compromising with the action because some part your brain is on the result while doing the work, and it will for sure compromise with your result.
Let’s deep dive more into karma or action, so as per spirituality, all the actions that you see around, like singing a word, the dancing of a peacock. blowing of air, rising of tide, breathing of human being, pumping of blood, all are manifestations of God’s will Power. Now see how beautiful it is and how strong the willpower is.
It is also believed that we are an integral part of God, hence while doing any work, if we feel God is manifesting something and we do it with our full Consciousness it will definitely become beautiful, and hence a beautiful result will come.
All the technology and inventions that we are seeing today are the thoughts that came into men’s minds, and with time, they manifest them into Physical form with their willpower. Work as if you are the creator, and your creation will be beautiful.

Let’s shed some light on good karma and bad karma.
We need to remember that whatever karma we do makes our character, and we evolve with time. How we will evolve is decided by our karma; no one can get anything unless he deserves it. This is an eternal law. We may sometimes think it is not so, but in the long struggle, we become convinced of it. A man may struggle all his life for riches, he may cheat thousands, but he finds at last that he did not deserve to become rich.
Buying books in different languages does not mean you can read all languages, but only those that are in a language you have learned and worked with.
Hard work and Smart work.
Here the things get a little bit tricky, but not much. Let me explain to you. Whatever work we do, we need knowledge to do it, or vice versa.
But the interesting part is that everything is already inside our minds. In many cases, it is not discovered, but remains covered, and when the Covering is slowly taken off, we say, “We are learning,” and the advance of this knowledge is made by the advance of this Process of uncovering. The man from whom this veil is being lifted is a more knowing man, the man upon whom it lies thick is ignorant, and the man from whom it is entirely gone is all-knowing, Omniscient. Like fire in a piece of Flint, knowledge exists in the mind.
Now the question is, what is hard work or smart work? The only work we need to do is to remove the dust of ignorance from us and expose us to the knowledge. Simply, if work is done with full awareness and consciousness with a feeling to take out our knowledge, we are undoubtedly doing great work which will, for sure, give good results. If we are doing any work, we should think that we have to take out our ideas from our treasure, which is our mind, and put them into the work. If our work becomes meditation, it will for sure take us to the climax!
